Well today the trip almost ended before it began....permanently.
On the way to work in the rain, coming out of the Harbour Tunnel at 80K in the middle of 8 lanes of peak hour traffic, the car in front of me suddenly swerved and changed lanes. For a second I was able to see why as lying right across the full lane at an angle was a large thick length of 2"X 4" timber.
I had no choice but to ride over it. I hit it, felt the bike lift and then land heavily on the slick surface. The entire bike wobbled and jerked like a hyperactive disco diva before I was able to bring it under control.
A large shot of adrenalin first thing in the morning is better than a double espresso.
